Our vision, mission and values
Society of Saint Vincent de Paul — Mother Teresa Conference, Dieppe Chapter
Vision
As a Catholic lay organization, we embrace the world in a network of charity, serving Christ through those who suffer, who are disadvantaged and marginalized. We offer them love and respect, help and development, joy and hope, in a more just society.
We also seek to deepen our spirituality, as well as the love and mutual aid among members. Through the way we serve the most disadvantaged, united in heart and spirit, we hope that people will feel drawn to the Society and to Christ who gives it life.
Mission
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization whose mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ through people who are poor, with love, respect, justice and joy.
Values
Vincentians are called to:
See Christ in all those who suffer.
Be united within one family.
Establish personal contact with poor and vulnerable people.
Help in every way possible.
Rooted in the Dieppe community
Our conference is rooted in the heart of Dieppe's francophone Acadian Catholic community, where Saint-Anselme Catholic Church and Sainte-Thérèse Catholic Church are important landmarks. We work from the Presbytery of the Saint-Anselme Pastoral Unit, a place of welcome and service located at 1014 Amirault Street.
Our spirituality is one of humble and discreet service, in the image of Saint Vincent de Paul, who saw the face of Christ in every suffering person. We also seek to deepen love and mutual support among members, united in heart and spirit. We welcome people in need without religious discrimination.

Our story
Faced with growing demand for help in our municipality, a group of volunteers created the Dieppe Chapter of the Mother Teresa Conference in 2024. Associated with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, this local non-profit organization, co-founded among others by Sister Auréa Cormier, helps people and families in need in Dieppe.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, founded in 1833 by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, is present in more than 150 countries. Our conference is part of this universal tradition of charity, deeply rooted in the Dieppe community.
